DLO – Inquiry

Kia Orana and welcome back to my blog. This term for our inquiry, we had to split up into groups of 4 and make a project to design for the school. What we made was a shoe cleaner, we didn’t get to finish it off but its alright! Here is an amazing video of our design, our reflection and what we did during our project and how we created it. Hope you enjoy, leave a positive comment on my blog.

Thank you!

Naomi Inference – Surprise Birthday Party

SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY

Flies hovered around the kitchen, looking for a suitable place to land.

Mrs Stevens carefully opened the hot oven and took out the two dozen small cakes inside. They were to be part of a surprise birthday party for her son, who would be home soon from school. After cooling the cakes by the open window, she began to decorate them with icing, cream and ‘hundreds and thousands’. Then she put them onto a large serving plate and took them to the dining table where she covered them with a brightly embroidered cloth over the cakes.

On the table were six cups and a similar number of knives, forks and serviettes. A birthday card with a picture on the front of a large cake with ten candles burning brightly sat at one end of the jarrah table.

Rain began to drip slowly down the drainpipe outside as Mrs Stevens removed her apron and hurried outside to the utility in the tin shed. Soon she was speeding down the rough and bumpy road to the bus stop. She was just in time to see a happy looking Shane waving goodbye to Mrs Johnson, the bus driver. Two minutes later he was even happier as he was joined by his unexpected guests at the dining table while Mrs Stevens began to make preparations in the kitchen for the evening meal.

Today for literacy, Ms Tipene wasn’t here today so we had to stay in our home class. I was with Rm 1 literacy and we had to do a task where we read this story and try to answer the questions below. Here is what I answered for all 12 of the questions, leave a positive comment on my blog.

Naomi MY QUESTIONS

Kia Orana and welcome to my blog! Today for Literacy, Rm 5 had to read a book on either epic or Storyline online and write questions about it. For example like: “Who was the author to this story” or “What happened in the story”. I found this task interesting, but smooth and simple. I hope we can do more like these in the future for Literacy. Leave a positive comment on my blog.

Final week of Term 3

Week 10, the final week of Term 3. This week has been an awesome lot of fun! We had Tamaki Cluster (Netball) Fun days on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and so much more! We’ve even done our beep test today after assembly. It was so tiring as it started to get faster and faster each time. My favourite highlight about the beep test is that I was the last one standing and I’m glad I was able to beat my high score from last term. This term has been an awesome lot of fun this year and I really hope next term is better than before!

Kia Orana and welcome to my blog! It is the last week of term 3 and everyone in Team 5 had to do DLO that includes “Fit For Purpose” . What I did for my DLO is running! I made my character look like its going for a run and heading back home. Here is my animation I made, hope you enjoyed and check out the rest of my blog posts.

Research Task

Kia Orana and welcome to another blog post of mine! Today for our final literacy this week we had to do a research task about famous people or a famous civilisation and what their inspiration was to others that got them recognised and successful for. I did a famous person and my famous person I did research on was Aaliyah Dana Haughton. Here is my task I did about her, take a look and leave a positive comment.
